Through the Kiernan Women’s Health Initiative, Damico Health works to close the healthcare gap for women in remote Ugandan communities. Our goal is to provide essential services that empower women, improve outcomes, and support sustainable community development. By addressing disparities, we aim to ensure every woman, regardless of location, can access the care she needs.
Our approach emphasizes preventative services and screenings, which are vital in areas with limited resources. Early prevention helps stop diseases before they become severe and costly.
A key priority is HPV vaccination, protecting young women and girls against one of the leading causes of cervical cancer. Combined with regular cervical screenings, this creates a strong defense against a preventable but deadly disease.
We also focus on family planning education and access to birth control. Empowering women to make informed reproductive choices improves maternal and child health, lowers maternal mortality, and promotes family economic stability.
