Damico Health is committed to improving global health through evidence-based medical care for underserved populations worldwide. Our aim is to amplify our impact through a global network of partners who share our dedication to enhancing health outcomes in resource-limited settings.
Our strategy includes developing a comprehensive framework to standardize medical care delivery in our clinics and partner organizations, setting a new global benchmark for care in resource-poor areas. This framework will facilitate stronger collaborations with local organizations and governments, fostering scalable, sustainable healthcare solutions.
Critical to our vision are partnerships with academic institutions and global health organizations. Sharing knowledge, utilizing the latest medical advances, and innovating solutions, we aim to advance global health and enhance outcomes for millions.
Our Path Forward
The team at Damico Health has high expectations for the future. Since our inception in 2020, we have continually built upon our years of prior experience, constantly learning and evolving. Initially, we implemented small changes, but 2024 marked a significant overhaul as we moved forward with the knowledge and experience we had gained.
Previously, our efforts were centered around annual cycles. A team from the U.S. would arrive, work with our local partners, provide care, and then depart. Preventative care was always a priority for us, but we often found ourselves treating diseases that would be easily preventable if patients had access to more consistent care. In 2024, we shifted our model to quarterly interventions with continuous intermediate care managed by our local partners. This change allows for ongoing, uninterrupted care without the need for constant visits from our American team. While we still travel to work on our goals, we can now ensure more consistent care for the communities we serve.
Looking ahead to 2025, our aim is to establish a full-time staff providing continuous care on the ground. Initially, this effort will be mobile, but we anticipate developing physical infrastructure by 2028. Improving our processes is crucial to this work. The systems we implement are not just for our benefit; we serve as a proving ground in the areas we operate, with the ultimate goal of sharing this framework globally to enhance collaboration among organizations.
